Educate to eradicate poverty
Research and programme experience suggest that building a decent school within a village and providing exciting, trained teachers,
good teaching materials, discipline and hope with a reasonable curriculum, are often enough to bring most girls into
school – at least at a primary level – and encourages parents to get more involved in the education of their children.
Our project, The Kenya Kesho School for Girls will offer a superb primary education to a very high standard for the girl child from the Mshiu area.
By setting an example, we hope The Kenya Kesho School for Girls will attain the values of discipline, honesty and truthfulness and will
change the ethos and acceptance of a poor primary education into one of excellence and achievement.
The school will help the girl child from Mshiu area to have a progressive primary education, teaching her the basics of education and development
and progress for herself, her family and ultimately her community.
Peter and Sandra were both born in Kenya.
We both had a fantastic education in Kenya.
15 years ago we received an inheritance from our parents which we decided to invest in education in our local area, where we have lived for over 30 years.
Primary education in our area is not a high priority and consequently progress forward, especially for girls, to good National Secondary Schools is poor.
We intend to change that!
By setting an example, we hope The Kenya Kesho School for Girls will attain the values of discipline, honesty and
truthfulness and will change the ethos and acceptance of a poor primary education into one of excellence and achievement.
The Kenya Kesho School for Girls aims to achieve just that.
We will be opening our new school for the third term of this year August 2019.
We still need sponsors for 79 girls for the term starting August 2019.
